Ali Mohammed Al-Shorafa Al-Hammadi, Islamic Thinker – Translated by Qasim Hersi Farah (Ph.D.)
This article is a pure attempt and a sincere appeal, which simultaneously, is emerging from the heart and mind. For the sake of research, with all its forms of abstraction and deliberation, the clarity of the Holy Scripture of Allah –
Qur’an – challenges all other lucidities. The objectives of the Qur’an’s verses are to call for the good and well-being of the entirety of mankind by exhibiting and explaining the verses in a detailed method. The call of Allah consists of mercy, justice, freedom, peace, security, assistance, and cooperation among all humans with the intent of creating an environment in which people live in safety and security throughout their life.
People have stability by being provided with their daily food while performing their worships and following Allah’s guidance peacefully and soothingly. They develop the world and discover whatever kinds of provisions are deposited in the earth to work for the improvement of human service and to create satisfaction and happiness in this world. They are grateful to Allah for the provisions He provided to them. He created and made livestock, insects, and animals, which are subservient to people and they provide sustenance in people’s needs in life. Allah drew for the people a platform to work according to His guidance and lightening so as to ensure they will be rewarded with the best paradises.
The Case of the Message of Islam is that it is Allah’s Divine Speech assigned to His Messenger to convey to His creation – the people. Allah by confirming the identity of the Messenger declares that the Messenger is a human being of Allah’s creatures who was assigned to fully complete his limited duty. Allah says: “Say, O Prophet! I am only a man like you, but it has been revealed to me that your God is only one God – Allah. So whoever hopes for the meeting with their Lord, let them do good deeds and associate none in worshiping their Lord[1]” (Al-Kahf- The Cave: 110 ).
This is a verse that elucidated the definition of the religion of Islam in only two order- based sentences: To do righteous deeds and not to associate partners (anybody and/or anything) with Him. Then, does this order need any interpretation, explanation, fatwa, and/or clarification?
1. The Unitary and Good Deeds
The above-cited verse describes the Unitary of Allah (There is no god but Allah alone), performing good deeds that benefit mankind and prevent harm in all its forms. It means preserving respect for the elements of basic human rights; such as the right to live with complete freedom. Everyone must have the right to choose their faith, regardless of being right or wrong, without coercion. Among people, mercy, attachment, and judgment with the fulfillment of justice and the prohibition of injustice must be exercised.
Members of societies must have the opportunity to achieve interdependence based on social welfare to avoid the presence of poor people. This means there should be no beggar in the streets, no hungry person, no patient looking for medicine, no refugee without shelter, and no oppressed person entreating for recognition of his rights. Every human being must be kind to his brother or sister. All people must be close with each other, by having full respect, affection, and peace for one another.
What Allah wants is to achieve a society in which all people live in security and cooperation with righteousness and piety under the umbrella of the Most Merciful one – Ar-Rahman. These are segments of Allah’s Message addressed with signs to people. They comprehend the norms of these signs by using their intellectual capacity, with which Allah Has distinguished them from the insects and animals. In more than one verse, Allah informs people to reflect and think about the practicality of His verses and their objectives towards mankind so that they can understand them clearly. They must understand what they can gain
from Allah’s virtuous verses; rehabilitation, correction, and achievement of true life through these signs.
Then, they need to know what happened after the death of the Prophet Peace Be Upon Him (PBUM), having in mind that the Prophet was the only Imam for the Ummah (society), the teacher of humanity, and the Messenger of Allah to people. He called them to employ their intellects so that they can understand their religion correctly and truthfully. To comprehend more, they can get help from Allah’s monotheism and greatness. They must also believe in the Judgment Day and the Day on which they will be resurrected. That is what protects people from losses and satanic influences. Based on His mercifulness, Allah Has warned us from Satan by saying: “The Devil threatens you with the prospect of poverty and bids you to the shameful deed of stinginess, while Allah promises you forgiveness and great bounties from Him. And Allah is All-Bountiful, All-knowing”. (Qur’an: Al- Baqara (The Cow): 278).
2.Allah’s Divine Speech Warns from Following Satan
That is what the revelation of the Divine discourse calls for through Allah’s verses offering forgiveness and virtue. It also warns against Satan and its followers’ tricks to mislead people. To remind human minds, in their best interests; what is the definition of the message of the religious elders -Sheikhs, owners of the narrations, and the propagators of the hypocrites’ story-telling?
Their message of call contradicts Allah’s Message, which was sent to the people as described in the previous verse. They wrote,
as authors, thousands of books that are full of fabrications against the Messenger of Allah. Among their contents are falsified prophetic traditions called Ahadith and chronicles, which call people to follow the satanic path. They distort the values of the Qur’an, slander the Message of Allah, encourage indecency and evil, hearten hatred among people, inspire Muslim individuals to kill their own brothers, and to blow themselves up in the crowds to eliminate their innocent brothers of humanity who are among the Creatures of Allah.
They label apostasy to people and invite sick and evil souls to spread murdering and corruption in the world. Their calls reflect the origination from merciless hearts that are lacking any knowledge and recognition of mercy. Instead, they originate from a dead conscience and minds influenced by Satan until it caused them to forget the remembrance of Allah. As a result, they dominated Allah’s creatures with direct aggression, oppression, and injustice.
3. Concluding Remarks
Allah (Glory be to Him) dialogues to His servants with reasonable and logical argument, granting them freedom and the right to choose. However, the people of narratives, religious sheiks , commentators, preachers, and admonishing groups address the afflicted soul and its emotional readiness to follow the path of Satan. Then, these heedless followers end up losing both in this world and the hereafter.
There is a great difference between what Allah calls for in His Book of wisdom – Al- Hakim – and what the religious cults call for. Allah calls for good principles such as mercy,
justice, freedom, charity, peace, and stability. Besides that, Allah calls for the prohibition of murder, injustice, and aggression. Unlike that, religious cults call for narrations wrongly and sinfully attributed to the Messenger. These narrations include, but are not limited to, injustice and falsehoods encouraging people to follow the paths of evildoing and engaging in injustice. They also encourage spreading discord and making their followers remain in a life of misery, distress, and shedding blood. How can these two elements be compatible? One of them came from the Creator of this universe, and the other one came from individuals of His creatures who have strayed from the truth and right path.
Therefore, which one should we be following; Allah’s word or those of mankind? According to Allah’s assignment, the Messenger conveyed Allah’s word to mankind. Allah says: “This is a Book sent down to you ‘O Prophet’! – Do not let anxiety into your heart regarding it – so with it, you warn ‘the disbelievers’ and as a reminder to the believers” (Qur’an: Al-A’raf (The Heights): 3)
4. Narratives’ Verbatim and Aggression against the Verses of Allah
Allah commanded people to be careful of being influenced by Satan through following other books, which are not of what the Messenger said by reciting the verses of Qur’an on them. In this regard, Allah says: “Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord and do not take others as guardians besides Him. How seldom are you mindful ” (Qur’an: Al-A’raf (The Heights): 2).
Thus, do we really follow Allah’s word or do we follow some falsified words stated by humans of His creatures? Those are the humans who followed Satan’s efforts towards fulfilling its promise in front of its Lord upon the creation of mankind. Allah says: “[Iblees] said, “By Your might, I will surely mislead them all (Qur’an: Sad. 82). Allah gives us warning from following Satan in His statement: “Satan promises them and arouses desire in them. But Satan does not promise them except delusion” (Qur’an: An-Nisa (Women): 120).
In this regard, Allah also says: “When why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing (Qur’an: Al-An’am (The Cattle): 43).
Hypocrites’ novels and story-telling, which were unfairly attributed to the Messenger in a tyrannical form, were accumulated and filled in bulks of books and journal volumes. The narratives which are based on human recitations were named as hadith . Allah warned us from them and informed us of the invalidity of these hadiths attributed to the Messenger. In a form of condemnation, Allah says: “These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you in truth. Then in what hadith (statement) after Allah and His verses will they believe? (Qur’an: Al- Jathiyah (The Crouching): 6)
In the verse, Allah, the Almighty, asks His Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him – hereafter PBUH): How do Muslims follow false hadiths about the Messenger, while leaving behind the revealed Qur’an’s verses that call them to behave with mercy, justice, peace, and charity. It is forbidden to attack or kill
oneself. Instead, everybody is required to cooperate with everyone else by performing and advising good works with righteousness and piety. Everybody is also required to be uncooperative when it comes to committing sins and transgressions. In the words of Allah (May He be Glorified), the Messenger addresses and complains to Allah about the reason of what happened after him. Allah says: “And the Messenger has said, “O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur’an as [a thing] abandoned” (Qur’an: Al-Furqan (The Criterion). 30)
The narratives were managed and empowered with all the possible capabilities and capacities available by the enemies of Islam. Using all their efforts, they overwhelmed the verses that are proving whoever abandoned and turned away from the Qur’an wrong and a loser. Their minds were seized and domineered as many Muslims were deceived by their wrong references attributed to the Messenger. Then, Satan excessively influenced their ideas and drove them to open-ended disputes among themselves.
That is our situation today towards Islam. Certainly, people turned away from what the Prophet conveyed to them of which Qur’an is its primary and principle formula. Allah’s Messenger told and taught them to be unwavering from the Qur’an but they adopted what religious elders and leaders taught them of satanic narratives. Nevertheless, it is Allah who will rule over people by meriting some to inherit heaven and bliss, while others will inherit hellfire.
When one reaches those facts with his conviction, one will disappear forever and will engage in illusionary evildoings such as following satanic narratives. These narratives distort the message and goals of Islam. And then, the words of Allah will rise lofty to all the hypocrisy-based stories as promised by Almighty in the Holy Quran, when He said: “They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it” (At-Tawbah: 32).
The signs and words of Allah will remain and continue in His globe until the Last Hour comes. They lighten the minds and hearts of mankind by making them calm through tranquility descending in their hearts. That is the good outcome of the Qur’an’s verses and their guidance to the truth leading to the perfect path.
Those are the ones who earn Allah’s pleasure and deserve to obtain Allah’s forgiveness, mercy, and blessings, which descend on them. Then, Allah rewards the latter group of people with paradise and bliss in their next stage in life. Allah is the guardian of success.
